Our colleagues in the IT sector, Ivan Šoda and Ivan Jurković, participated in the First Conference of Chemistry Teachers and Educators, which took place in Opatija from February 24 to 26, 2025. This significant conference brought together a large number of educators, experts, and innovators in the field of chemistry and STEM education, providing them with an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices.
The topic of their presentation was "Interactive Teaching Methods with Students in the STEM Park Faust Vrančić," where they showcased innovative solutions in the field of augmented reality (AR). Through an interactive presentation, they demonstrated how this technology can be used in education, making lessons more dynamic, visually appealing, and aligned with modern educational trends.
For the conference, Ivan Šoda and Ivan Jurković adapted part of the content to fit chemistry curricula, demonstrating the flexibility of augmented reality applications across different STEM fields. Their presentation sparked great interest among participants, who had the opportunity to try out AR solutions and see concrete examples of how technology can enhance the teaching process and encourage students' curiosity and research skills.
A special thanks goes to Dr. Olgica Martinis from the Agency for Education and Training (AZOO) for the invitation and the opportunity to present the work of Trokut Center, with a special emphasis on innovative approaches in STEM education. We believe that such gatherings are crucial for strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and technology centers and for improving teaching through modern learning methods.
